Crime occurs all over the country, including here in Wisconsin. A middle school teacher, who also doubled as a volleyball coach, has recently quit his job. The reason may shock many residents here in the state, but it is important to remember that there are only allegations at this time and that the man has not been convicted of sex crimes thus far. However, he has been charged by police for sexual assault of a minor.
The alleged victim is a former volleyball player and student in the area. She was a 17-year-old high school student when she helped the alleged suspect coach volleyball. This occurred back in 2012.
It was during this time that the girl claims she and the teacher began to have a friendly relationship. They would talk and text. After a couple of weeks, she alleges that they would perform sexual acts in the storage room following volleyball practice. She claims that they had sex roughly two dozen times.
Wisconsin authorities say that the man has reportedly told them that he was in the process of getting a divorce and was miserable. However, it is not clear whether he admitted to the charges or if there is any solid proof of an unwanted sexual act occurring. This will all be important information for the prosecutor to have if they want to be successful in convicting this man of sex crimes. Otherwise, this man may be able to find holes in the prosecutor’s case and develop a solid case to keep himself out of jail or to get his charges reduced.
