Man charged with sex crimes after alleged sexual encounter

When a person is accused of a sex crime, there are many obstacles in front of him or her. This will likely stand true for a Wisconsin man who is currently facing two felony charges for sex crimes. The 26-year-old man’s troubles began when he was pulled over by local law enforcement in Jan. 2014 on suspicion of drinking and driving.

Once the police pulled the man over, they searched his vehicle. In the back seat, authorities say that they found a woman who was passed out — possibly from being heavily intoxicated. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance. When they resumed their search, police say they found what they believed to be a previously used condom.

The woman was questioned the following day, but she did not remember much. She did not believe that she had engaged in sexual activity with the man. However, she later changed her story. She said that she had bruises and reported that her blouse was missing multiple buttons. The alleged suspect says that the two of them never had sex and that he was only driving her home.

This man likely has a very long journey ahead of him as he faces his charges. This man and others charged with sex crimes in Wisconsin will want to make sure that their rights are protected as they move forward through criminal proceedings. A strong defense strategy can prove beneficial, as can remembering that everyone is innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
